Harry Potter fans who can’t make it to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child performed on stage will still be able to read the script. Publisher Little, Brown U.K. announced that it will publish the text this summer.
The publisher announced the news on Twitter. The script will be available in book form starting on July 31.
A statement on the Pottermore website also announced that a digital edition will be available, as well. First, there will be a Special Rehearsal Edition, followed by a Definitive Collector’s Edition. The first edition will include scenes that might not make it to the final play after its official opening.
Sadly, there’s no news yet of a U.S. publication date, but it will likely happen.
The Cursed Child continues the Potter saga with a story about Harry’s youngest son Albus. Ron, Harry and Hermione will all be in the play, which will feature two parts. Rowling wrote the play with Jack Thorne.
Paul Thornley is playing Ron, and Jamie Parker is Harry. Noma Dumezweni will play Hermione. The play opens in the West End in July.
