Justin Bieber was once a mama’s boy, but things have seriously changed.

The 21-year-old singer opened up to GQ magazine about the relationship he shares with both of his parents.

The “Sorry” singer admitted to being “a lot closer” to his dad Jeremy Bieber than his mom Patti Mallette. He added that he “doesn’t see her as much” as he would like to and explained to the magazine that the relationships still remain “switched.”

Back in November of 2015, Justin admitted to Billboard magazine that his relationship with his mother was “non-existing” because he was “ashamed” of his choices. He added that he never wanted to “disappoint” his mother, but he knew he was.

Besides his life choices, he explained that becoming an adult also factored into his relationship with his parents, claiming that as a person gets older “you don’t need them as much.” He added that for parents, a child was "all they had” and that they are so “invested” in their child, but once they grow older, they "don’t value" their parents' "opinion the same.”
