Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, looked radiant in blue as she attended a reception to mark the 75th anniversary of the Royal Air Cadets.
Middleton took part in the event as an Honorary Air Commandmant after her grandfather-in-law, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, passed on his duties as patronage to the Duchess after 63 years in his role as Air Commodore-in-Chief, according to the official Twitter page for Kensington Palace.
E! News reported that the Duchess spoke to air cadets and mentioned her son Prince George, who was very interested in being an air cadet.
According to The Telegraph, while speaking to Lucinda Condor, the Duchess said after she showed Prince George photos of Spitfires, “He is now obsessed with the Air Cadets and wants to join.”
This is the Duchess’ first official engagement after being given the role in December. For the event, she wore a blue Alexander McQueen dress coat she previously wore to a wreath-laying ceremony in a New Zealand War Memorial in 2014.
