Lady Gaga is taking her Grammys tribute to David Bowie very seriously, proving she’s much more invested in carrying on his legacy than honoring him in just one performance. The singer has inked her body with a tattoo of Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.
As we previously reported, Gaga was chosen to honor Bowie at the Grammys earlier this month. She was set to perform anyway, but Grammys executive producer Ken Ehrlich thought she would be “perfect” for the tribute after the legendary singer died on Jan. 10 and she agreed.
TMZ reports Gaga was inked by famed tattoo artist Mark Mahoney on Saturday, Feb. 13. at his Shamrock Social Club tattoo parlor in Los Angeles.
Gaga got Bowie’s face from his Aladdin Sane album cover tattooed on the side of her body. She chronicled the process on Snapchat, and wrote "This was the image that changed my life.”
