Sarah Jessica Parker will always be remembered as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City, but Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce star Lisa Edelstein has revealed she almost got the part.
While she’s best known for her role in House M.D. opposite Hugh Laurie, Edelstein revealed during an interview with Access Hollywood that if Parker opted out of the role, she would’ve accepted it.
“I was either going to do it or not,” she revealed. “It all depended on whether [Sarah Jessica Parker] said yes. My contract was complete. I was waiting.”
Edelstein said when she didn’t get the role she was heartbroken, and didn’t watch the hit HBO show at first because it was “too painful.”
“I love the comparisons now,” she added. “It’s sort of a funny thing, that when life comes around that way.”
