After MAC Cosmetics shared a photo of an African American woman wearing one of their shades of lip colors backstage at New York Fashion Week, several users left racist comments.
The woman wears Royal Romance lip color in the photo of a close-up of her lips, which prompted hateful comments from some Instagram users. MAC has not responded yet.
The photo and its unfortunate comments have since sparked a wave of positivity in the comments section, with many praising MAC for posting more diversity to their page.
“Keep posting positive comments!!” one commenter wrote. “I came here to see what negative things were said and why, but i see so many positive comments, i dont have the time to scroll to the negative ones! LoL!!!!!”
