Mariah Carey just got engaged to James Packer, but her twins with ex Nick Cannon, Moroccan and Monroe, don’t quite understand what that means yet.
Packer proposed with a 35-carat diamond ring last month, but Carey said she hasn’t told her 4-year-old twins what the ring signifies.
"I haven't talked to them about it completely because they are so young, so they don't really understand things yet," she told E! News. "So you have to go slowly and explain things and always make sure they know that this is only going to be good for them."
She added, "Their lives are not going to change."
Carey went on to explain it’s important for her kids to have a good relationship with Cannon, who she split from last year.
"For me, as long as we are together and they have a great relationship with their dad, then that's great,” she said.
They appear to be on great terms lately, with Cannon even congratulating her on her recent engagement on Instagram.
