Two months after the brother of reality TV star Kristin Cavallari was found dead, the medical examiner has ruled the death accidental and said he died of hypothermia.
As we previously reported, the body of Michael Cavallari, 30, was found in Utah not far from the location where his abandoned car was discovered last December. Because of the frigid temperatures in the area, authorities believed from the start that exposure to the elements was likely the cause of his death.
In a news release on Feb. 9, the medical examiner confirmed just that and said that the death was accidental. The office is still, however, awaiting the toxicology report to determine if Michael had any drugs in his system when he died.
Michael’s sister, Kristin, is married to NFL quarterback Jay Cutler and previously starred on the MTV series Laguna Beach. After his death, she posted a tribute to her brother via social media with a picture of the two of them when they were kids and captioned it, “My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP.”
