Meek Mill avoided jail time for a probation violation, but the rapper won’t be able to leave his home to do any recording for a few months.

Meek, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, has been on probation since 2009 after being convicted of drug and gun charges.

In November 2015, the 28-year-old left Philadelphia to attend the American Music Awards without written permission and was arrested. He also failed a urine test, reports TMZ. this was the fourth time in eight years that he violated his probation.

On Feb. 5, Meek was back in court for the sentencing hearing. Common Pleas Court Judge Genece Brinkley had threatened to give him jail time, but instead sentenced him to at least 90 days of house arrest, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Beginning on March 1, he will have to wear an ankle monitor bracelet and cannot record, perform or even release music while serving his sentence. However, he will be allowed to do community service, but cannot work with youths.

Meek is currently dating rap star Nicki Minaj, who attended the court hearing this week. She also testified on his behalf in December.
