Mob Wives star Big Ang, real name Angela Raiola, now has stage 4 lung and brain cancer. Her sister, Janine Detore, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for cannabis oil after her chemotherapy treatments didn’t work.
As we previously reported, Raiola’s cancer returned in December after she had surgery to remove a tumor in her throat and her left lymph nodes. Page Six reports not only did the cancer return it also spread, so last month she did another round of chemotherapy to no avail.
Detore wrote on the GoFundMe page, “On January 26th the doctor reviewed her CT scan and informed us that the treatment was not working, and in fact one tumor grew larger and other tumors had no change. We were advised that she should start immunotherapy the following week.”
She added, “So I suggested cannabis oil as an alternative. This is why I am putting up this GoFundMe to try to help my sister to get this oil to help her at least be pain free. Angela cannot function to work anymore. I’m not sure that it will work but I’m praying.”
As of Thursday, $31,000 has been raised for the cannabis oil through the fundraising site.
