Supermodel Cindy Crawford has been in the business since 1987 and now at almost 50 years old has announced that she is calling it a career.
During an interview with United Airlines' Rhapsody Magazine, the famous beauty said that she will retire for good later this month when she turns 50.
"I'm sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore," Crawford said. "And that's okay. I've done it. I've worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."
As US Weekly noted, her last modeling gig was pretty recent when joined Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer for Balmain's SS16 ad campaign, so it’s not like she’s having trouble finding work. Crawford, however, may want to actually step aside to pass the torch onto her daughter, Kaia Jordan Gerber. The 14-year-old has already followed in her mom’s footsteps by doing some modeling of her own. She bears a striking resemblance to her mother, which means we may have already found the next big supermodel.
