Jennifer Lovdahl, a mom from Alaska, conducted an experiment to see how food from McDonald’s would hold up after a 6-year period and the results are pretty shocking.

She posted the Happy Meal to social media this week to prove that the chicken nuggets and French fries did not decompose. Lovdahl kept the original receipt, which shows she bought it in 2010.

She wrote, “It's been 6 years since I bought this ‘Happy Meal’ at McDonald's. It's been sitting at our office this whole time and has not rotted, molded, or decomposed at all!!! It smells only of cardboard,” adding, “We did this experiment to show our patients how unhealthy this ‘food’ is. Especially for our growing children!! There are so many chemicals in this food! Choose real food! Apples, bananas, carrots, celery....those are real fast food.”

The food looks slightly different in color, but pretty much the same. Lovdahl also commented that the cardboard box the meal was in was in worse shape than the food itself.
