On this week's episode of New Girl, Ally (Winston's coworker) explains to Nick and Winston that if you're waiting for magic to happen in your love life, you'll be alone forever.
Nick wants there to be music swelling, wind to blow, clouds to part, and magic to happen. Proving to Ally he can feel this way, he states that he's in is his prime and attempts to lift a keg. Unfortunately it winds up putting him in the doctor's office.
Right after Nick and Winston make a pact to keep each other from dreaming and expecting magic, Nick falls right into the magic trap when a a beautiful woman (Megan Fox) commands the office, demanding the doctor to order her products to sell to his customers. It also just so happens that she needs a place to stay for the next month, at which Nick jumps at the chance and offers her an extra room. She agrees to give it a look.
Reagan (Fox) immediately picks up on the fact that Schmidt was fat as a child and Winston owns a cat. It was also revealed that Reagan once hooked up with Cece for an MTV beach house special, which naturally makes Schmidt extremely jealous.
To impress her, Nick cleaned his room, loaded it with candles, made up a fake persona for himself that donates to charities, did exercises involving the body, but forgot he left a bowl of mashed potatoes under the bed. Of course she noticed this. Overall, she seems to be pretty impressed by the apartment until Winston shows her the waterfall shower head Nick installed using duct tape that doesn't actually work. But she agrees to move in once it's fixed.
However, she changes her mind after Schmidt freaks out when he sees her holding Cece's hand to fix her cut. He also has a jealous breakdown thinking Reagan will steal Cece away from her because there's a small window of time where someone can come in and steal a bride, just like in The Wedding Planner.
After deciding she doesn't want to move in because it would come between a friends group, she tells Schmid she doesn't want to be blamed for anything between him and Cece. Reagan also tells him that the real problem is that he's afraid to buy her a ring because it won't be good enough, and that Cece is actually too good for him and he knows that. She tells him he has two choices: he can stay terrified someone will steal her away or love her and thank the universe that she loves him back.
Inspired and completely agreeing with Reagan, Schmidt goes to the bar while Cece's working to apologize for how he's been acting and pulls out an empty ring box, places the imaginary ring on her finger, and tells her she's always had his trust and because of that he doesn't need to she the world he owns her with a ring.
Nick, Schmidt, Cece, and Winston decide to show up at Reagan's hotel in attempt to force her to move in with them. When she ends up not being there they wait for her to come back. When she comes home to a dark room with headphones she can't hear or see them, so everyone except Nick thinks they should just go. Instead, Nick takes her headphones off from behind her and she kicks him in the face, to which he replies with this crafty response while laying on the floor:
"Thanks for the swift kick in the face, perhaps you wanna live in our place."
After they refuse to leave until she agrees to be their roommate, she admits it's the creepiest thing a group of people she's known for four hours has ever done for her, so she agrees and becomes a part of a group hug.
This was a hug, mind you, she is not a fan of.
