Ryan Reynolds is opening up about the name he and wife, Blake Lively, chose for their firstborn daughter James.

The Deadpool star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday, Feb. 5, where he was asked about the meaning behind her name. Although co-host Kate Garraway referred to it as “unusual,” Reynolds defended it.

“In the spectrum of weird celebrity baby names, I feel like we’re not really breaking any new ground here,” Reynolds told Garraway. He also joked they didn’t chose something outlandish like “Summer Squash Meadowlark.”

He went on to say about his 1-year-old daughter’s name, “I also thought of just going with all the letters being silent in her name, so it would just be ‘Haa.’”

Although it had already leaked, Reynolds confirmed James’ name on the Today Show in March 2015. “I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media,” he explained at the time. “Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

He also called fatherhood "the most common thing in the world but the most profound," adding, "It's super fun, I just love it."
