Actress Salma Hayek was devastated after learning that her dog, Mozart, was shot to death.

On Feb. 26, the Oscar-nominated actress took to Instagram to reveal the loss of her four-legged companion.

"I haven't posted for a week as I been mourning the death of my dog, Mozart who I personally delivered out of his mother's womb," said Hayek.

The actress says that Mozart was found dead at her ranch on Feb. 19 with a shot close to his heart.

TMZ reports that the shooter has not been identified yet. However, Hayek wants justice for her beloved friend that has been taken away from her.

"I am hoping that the Washington State authorities do justice to this wonderful dog whom in 9 years never bit or attacked anyone. He loved his territory and never strayed away...he was the most loving and loyal companion. He didn't deserve a slow and painful death."#doglover #animalrights #dog #dogoftheday #rip #delivery #washingtonstateauthorities," Hayek wrote.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hayek as she mourns her dog's death. We hope that Mozart gets the justice that he deserves.
