Sandy Duncan has quit the Broadway musical Finding Neverland, after only five performances.

Duncan started playing the role of Madame du Maurier on Feb. 12 and was supposed to continue through March 27, reports Broadway.com. She cited “family obligations” and plans to return eventually.

Sources told The New York Daily News that Duncan, 69, guit during a rehearsal on Feb. 16 with most of the cast present. A source also told the site that she will not be coming back. Kristy Cates will play the role in the meantime.

Duncan starred as Peter pan on Broadway in 1979 and toured in the role during the 1980s. The two-time Golden Globe nominee is best known for her role on TV’s Valerie.

The Finding Neverland musical is based on the 2004 Oscar-winning film of the same name that is based on Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie’s relationship with a family that inspired his famous stories. The role of Madame du Maurier was played by Julie Christie in the film andd originated by Carolee Carmello on Broadway.
