Kara will get to meet Barry Allen after all. Grant Gustin has found the time to make an appearance on an upcoming Supergirl episode, which will link all the Greg Berlanti DC Comics TV shows.

CBS announced today that Gustin will appear as Barry Allen/The Flash during the Monday, March 28 episode.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making SUPERGIRL – THE FLASH and SUPERGIRL are teaming up!” Berlanti and executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone's enthusiasm and support.”

It was rumored in November that Gustin would appear on Supergirl, but Berlanti debunked the rumor a few weeks later. Clearly, the Supergirl team was just waiting for the show to get picked up for a full season before deciding on linking the show with The Flash.

The Flash’s visit to National City would actually connect Supergirl to all the other DC shows on The CW, including Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. All four shows are produced by Berlanti and sprung out of Arrow.

The Flash airs on Tuesdays on The CW, while Supergirl airs on Mondays on CBS.
