Kanye West has landed himself in some hot water with Taylor Swift with the release of his The Life of Pablo song “Famous.” The song contains a graphic lyric about Taylor Swift, and as she relayed through her rep, she’s not happy.
The questionably lyrics goes: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b-tch famous.”
In a statement to Variety, the “Wildest Dreams” singer’s spokesman said West actually asked her to post a link to the song on her own Twitter page.
“Kanye did not call for approval,” said her spokesman. “But to ask Taylor to release his single Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b-tch famous.'”
It’s not just Swift who has publicly shown opposition to the lyrics. Her brother Austin, posted an Instagram video of himself throwing out a pair of West’s Yeezys. “Getting a head start on some spring cleaning,” he wrote. “Here we go again.”
Swift’s friend Ruby Rose also defended her, and others who West has disrespected, in a couple of tweets.
