Leonardo DiCaprio now has the tag “Oscar winner” next to his name, but that doesn’t mean the always-busy actor is taking a break. Brie Larson, Mark Rylance and Alicia Vikander also have to go back to work today.
Although DiCaprio isn’t committed to another project to follow The Revenant, it was reported in February that he’s developing a mystery movie at Paramount called Conquest. It’s not clear what this film will be, but it will be written by Mark L. Smith, who co-wrote The Revenant. DiCaprio also has plans to make The Devil In The White City, a period serial killer movie, with Martin Scorsese.
DiCaprio is much more busy as a producer. He’s credited as one on Ben Affleck’s next film as director, Live By Night. DiCaprio is also a producer on Robin Hood: Origins.
Larson has a lot in the works. The Room star is currently filming Kong: Skull Island, which opens in 2017. We might see her before that, though, in Free Fire, a movie that co-stars Cillian Murphy and Armie Hammer. She’s also in Basmati Blues with Donald Sutherland.
Best Supporting Actress winner Vikander is easily the busiest of the four winners. After a breakthrough 2015, she will be seen in Tulip Fever with Christoph Waltz, the new Jason Bourne with Matt Damon, The Light Between Oceans with Michael Fassbender and Submergence with James McAvoy.
Rylance is better known for his work on the stage and is a three-time Tony winner. Movie audiences will next see him at work in The BFG, an adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic that reteams him with his Bridge of Spies director, Steven Spielberg. He’s also appearing in Christopher Nolan’s next film, Dunkirk.
