A convicted felon in Michigan loves Adele’s music so much that he chose to sing one of her melodies as his apology in court earlier this month.

ABC News reported that Brian Earl Taylor, 21, stood before a judge on March 10 and belted out a tune that was inspired by Adele’s hit “Hello” to express his remorse.

"Hello, your honor," Taylor began the song with the same word as Adele starts off her famous song. Then he broke into his own lyrics pertaining to how sorry he now is for the crimes he was convicted of.

"I want to say I'm sorry for the things I've done and I'll try and be stronger in this life I chose, but I want you to know -- that door, I closed,” he sang before the Washtenaw County Trial Court in Ann Arbor. “And your honor, I'm sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry."

Taylor sang to Judge Darlene O'Brien for one minute, but the courtroom concert was not a surprise to her. Taylor’s lawyers did ask before the hearing if she would allow him to sing and she agreed. O'Brien said that she is a big fan of Adele’s music and recognized the tune.

Authorities arrested Taylor on Nov. 9, 2015 after an altercation with another man he was pointing a gun at. He was sentenced for unlawful imprisonment and carrying a concealed weapon. He received two years for the weapons charge and 18 months to 15 years for the unlawful imprisonment.

MLive noted that Taylor said he would eventually like to obtain a degree in business management, work with his church and try to be a good role model.

He has another hearing on March 24 for a separate case. No word yet on whether or not he plans to sing then.
