During an interview at the Oscars, Daisy Ridley stated the obvious, telling Star Wars fans that Luke Skywalker really will have a larger part in Episode VIII.

When she stopped by MTV News on the Oscars red carpet on Feb. 28, Ridley revealed that she has done a lot of rehearsing with Mark Hamill, who is again playing Luke. She also indirectly confirmed that Episode VIII will start almost right after The Force Awakens ended.

“When we went back to Skellig [in Ireland] to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people,” Ridley said. “He’s amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff.”

Ridley, who never starred in a movie before The Force Awakens, added, “It’s such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really.”

At the very end of The Force Awakens, Ridley’s Rey met Luke, but the movie ended before Hamill said a word. A short video that Disney released when the studio announced that Episode VIII started production showed a new shot of Luke.

Episode VIII is being written and directed by Rian Johnson and hits theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
