Erin Andrews was awarded $55 million on Monday, March 7 for her lawsuit against a Marriott Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.

According to Yahoo Sports, in 2008 Andrews was staying at a Marriott and Michael David Barrett had booked a hotel room next to hers. He then implanted a camera through a peephole in her hotel room and proceeded to record a video of Andrews in the nude.

Barrett posted the video online and plead guilty after he was charged with stalking. He was then sentenced to 30 months in prison.

Variety reports the owners of the Tennessee Marriott argued that Barrett was to blame for the incident, but said that a hotel affiliate may have been responsible for giving Barrett Andrews's room number.

In her lawsuit, Andrews claimed she has suffered a tremendous amount of depression over the years since the video was posted to the internet.

“This happens every day of my life,” Andrews said. “Either I get a tweet or somebody makes a comment in the paper or somebody sends me a still video to my Twitter or someone screams it at me in the stands and I’m right back to this. I feel so embarrassed and I am so ashamed."

The jury reached their final decision and held both parties responsible for the damages. Barrett was held responsible for 50 percent of the damages and the Nashville Marriott owner and West End Hotel Partners were responsible for 49 percent.

After admitting to the stalking charges, Barrett was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. Barrett was sued for $28 million and the hotel owner and West End Hotel Partners were sued for $26 million.

The Dancing With The Stars co-host cried tears of joy once the jurors announced the verdict, then later posted a special thanks to the court and jury on Monday afternoon via Instagram.

Even though the she won her case, Andrews' father, Steve Andrews, said she was never the same after the incident.

“She’s afraid. She’s afraid of crowds, afraid of people. She doesn’t trust anymore,” said Mr. Andrews.
