While doing press on March 7 for her new movie, Miracles From Heaven, Jennifer Garner explained why she has faith and how the film has affected her personal life.

Garner explained in an interview with E! News why she has strong faith, saying, "You can't expect the world just to be good. You can't have faith if only good things are happening in the world. That's the whole point. You have to dig deeper to rely on something. The world is a complicated place…The world is full of extreme views and complications and it's driven by all kinds of things out of our control."

In terms of Miracles From Heaven inspiring Garner, it has motivated her to take her three children to church like her parents did for her when she was young. "I hadn't been participating in giving them some kind of ground under them in the way that my parents had done for me. I just expected them to have it because I do," Garner said.

Miracles From Heaven, which comes to theaters on March 16, is about a family that struggles when their daughter Anna is diagnosed with an incurable, life-threatening illness. After falling from a tree in an accident, Anna says she meets God and is cured. The movie is based on a true story.
