In a tale of two Kylies, singer Kylie Minogue is trying to stop model/reality star Kylie Jenner from registering “Kylie” as a trademark in the U.S.

Jenner, who appears on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, is trying to trademark her first name so she can use it for advertising to promote her brands, goods and services. Minogue isn’t too happy and her company, KDB Pty Ltd. filed a Notice of Opposition last week. As USA Today notes, Minogue’s company notes that the singer is already known around the world as just “Kylie.” In fact, she has owned kylie.com since 1996.

As the BBC points out, KDB doesn’t mince words and makes it obvious that Minogue really does not like the Kardashians and Jenner. She called the 18-year-old a “home-schooled graduate,” adding that her “photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, for example, the disability rights and African-American communities.”

That last bit is likely a reference to Jenner's controversial photos with cornrows and the Interview magazine cover where she sat in a wheelchair.

While Jenner’s lawyers haven’t responded, Minogue reiterated on Twitter that she is Kylie. (Then again, so is Jenner…)
