On Monday’s episode of Lucifer, a priest comes to Lucifer for help when he suspects a drug ring is operating out of a local youth center.
Lucifer tells Linda that he isn’t enjoying his parties anymore. She suggests that he’s lonely and he should spend time with someone he respects.
Maze tells Lucifer a priest is asking for a favor. Frank wants Lucifer’s help stopping Arietta, leader of the local youth center, from recruiting a teen named Connor for his drug ring. The police were useless. Frank says his darkest desire is putting his fist through Arietta’s face.
Lucifer and Chloe go to the youth center looking for dirt on the priest. They find Arietta dead, beaten to death by a baseball bat and believe Frank killed him.
Chloe finds a voice modulator at the scene. She questions the head counselor, Eric Doyle. He says he was in counseling sessions with teens Nicki and Connor at the time of death. Chloe interviews them next. Connor says there’s no way Frank could have killed Arietta. Frank has watched out for him since he lost his parents at the age of six.
Father Frank has a criminal record, but nothing for the last ten years. Chloe finds a restraining order against him by Arietta. It’s enough to bring him in.
Chloe invites Dan to her house to talk about their kiss. When she leaves, Dan finds Malcolm is back on duty and has talked the chief into making him Dan’s partner. Malcolm knows Dan wants to tell Chloe about the shooting. Turns out he shot Malcolm to keep him from shooting Chloe, but looked the other way for Malcolm’s illegal activities. If Dan comes clean, they both go to jail. Malcolm wants Dan to borrow something from evidence for him.
Amenadiel approaches Malcolm in a car park. He made a deal with Malcolm to keep him out of hell in exchange for doing a job for him.
Chloe questions Frank about Arietta. He argued with Arietta about Connor that morning, but denies killing him. He has an alibi. He was taking confessions. Chloe asks him to come into the station for a statement. An SUV suddenly squeals around the corner and shots are fired at Father Frank.
Chloe asks Frank what the shooting was about. He plays a voice altered threat left on his voicemail. He thought it was from Arietta, but now he believes it’s from the Spider – a new drug dealer trying to take over Arietta’s business. Frank admits Connor is already dealing for Arietta, and he wants to get him out.
Frank wants to take sanctuary in the church. Lucifer reminds him that it just got shot up and takes him to Lux instead.
The partial plate Chloe got from the SUV leads to a vehicle stolen from outside the youth center. She’s ordered traffic cam footage to find out who was driving.
Frank tells Chloe and Lucifer that he used to be a touring musician. Then he was in a car accident with Connor and his family. Connor’s parents and Frank’s daughter were killed. Turning to God made him feel like his daughter was safe. He started looking out for Connor.
Frank and Lucifer play the piano together, competing to see who the better player is. Chloe picks on Lucifer for enjoying Frank’s company.
Chloe gets a lead on the Spider. He’s rumored to hang out at a skate park. They see Nicki from the youth center dealing drugs. She gives the money to Connor. When Connor sees them, he shoots a gun at the ceiling to create a panic to block Chloe and Lucifer from getting to him. They give chase, but lose him.
Chloe receives a picture from the traffic cam – Connor was the driver of the SUV. She thinks he’s the Spider. She shows the picture to Frank, but he’s convinced that she’s wrong about Connor.
Frank goes to the balcony for some air. He asks Lucifer why he doesn’t have faith in God. Lucifer says God didn’t have faith in him. He says he knows what God’s plan was for him. Frank asks how he knows it’s finished. Frank gets a call and disappears into the club to talk.
Dan gives Malcolm a gun from evidence and asks if they’re done. Malcolm says no.
Maze tells Lucifer and Chloe that Frank left to meet Connor. Lucifer suggests that he’s trying to hide the teen. They head for the church.
Connor holds Frank at gun point. Doyle tells him to shoot. Doyle is the Spider. He thinks Connor is too attached to the priest to be trusted. Connor can’t pull the trigger. Doyle tries to shoot Connor, but Frank jumps in front of him, taking the bullet to the chest.
Lucifer is upset. He holds pressure on Frank’s wound. Frank says at first he didn’t know why God put Lucifer in his path. Now he thinks God put him in Lucifer’s path. Lucifer says God gave up on him, but Frank says he’s wrong. Frank then dies in Lucifer’s arms.
Lucifer gets angry and holds Doyle off the ground by his neck. Chloe stop him before he strangles Doyle. Connor cries over Frank’s body. He gives Chloe the information she needs to put Doyle away.
Lucifer goes home. He’s visibly shaken. He yells at God for taking Frank.
At dinner with Dan, Chloe says her mind is elsewhere and asks if they can talk another time. She goes to Lucifer’s flat instead because she thinks he needs a friend.
Amenadiel meets Malcolm at a diner. He’s upset that Malcolm hasn’t made more progress in the task he gave him. Amenadiel threatens to send him back to hell. Malcolm apologizes and shows him the untraceable gun. He asks who he’s supposed to kill. Amenadiel says Lucifer Morningstar.
