Patrick Warburton has joined Netflix's adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warburton will be playing Lemony Snicket, the writer falsely accused of a crime and hunted by the police and the Volunteer Fire Department. Snicket is also the pen name of  the real life Series of Unfortunate Events author Daniel Handler. The character was previously portrayed by Jude Law in the 2004 film, although he only served as the narrator and never appeared on screen.

With that in mind, Warburton is a fine choice considering his background in voice acting. You may not recognize his face, but you'd certainly recognize his voice, as he's portrayed Joe on Family Guy, Brock on The Venture Bros. and Kronk in The Emperor's New Groove. In terms of on-screen appearances, Warburton also stared as the titular character in the cult series The Tick and he's had minor roles on Seinfeld and NewsRadio.

Warburton will be joining Neil Patrick Harris, who has been confirmed as Count Olaf, as we previously reported. Newcomers Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes will be playing Violet and Klaus respectively.

Based on the 13-part book series, A Series of Unfortunate Events revolves around three children who lose their parents in a fire and are sent to live with their mysterious relative. It will premiere on Netflix later this year.
