Preparations for the NBC Cruel Intentions pilot appear to be well under way, with actress Sarah Michelle Gellar sharing a tidbit of her own preparation for her role reprisal.

As we previously reported, last month NBC ordered a pilot for a follow-up to the 1999 film of the same name, which starred Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Selma Blair, and Reese Witherspoon. The pilot will follow the son of Sebastian (Phillippe) and Annette (Witherspoon). While the role of Annette will be taken over by Drop Dead Diva's Kate Levering, Gellar confirmed her return to her original role of Kathryn last month.

On March 4, Gellar shared a photo of what appears to be one key step in transforming into her character. The 38-year-old posted a photo to her Instagram of herself in what appears to be a hair salon, sporting not the signature blonde locks she's rocked since her Buffy the Vampire Slayer days, but the chocolate brown color she wore when she first played the diabolical prep schooler Kathryn.

She later posted a photo of the finished product.

On Feb. 5, which just so happens to be the 17th Anniversary of the original films release date,  she even gave fans a sneak peek at the pilot's script.
