Steven Avery’s new lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, has proposed a new alibi for her client by using developments in technology since his murder trial.

Zellner, a well known wrongful conviction attorney, hasn’t shied away from taking the case to social media since she took on the subject of Netflix's Making a Murderer as a client.

On March 6, Zellner tweeted about Avery having an “airtight alibi” that he did not kill Teresa Halbach.

Zellner claims cell phone tower evidence shows that Halbach did leave Avery’s property after taking photos of a car for Auto Trader magazine, while Avery stayed at his trailer.

Avery’s latest attempt at an appeal was back in January, when he filed paperwork on the basis of authorities searching his trailer multiple times with an improper warrant and that a juror was out to get him.
