Accidents and accidental situations leave the characters in this week’s new films in a bind.  In a new thriller starring John Goodman, a woman wakes up to find the world she knows may be gone.

Following a tragic accident, a woman awakens from a coma to discover that she is in an underground shelter with two men she doesn’t know in 10 Cloverfield LaneThe two try to keep her from leaving their safe haven, telling her that beyond the doors is a world destroyed by a nuclear attack.   The PG-13 action thriller stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr..  It’s running in conventional and IMAX theaters for one hour and forty-five minutes.

A dimwitted man searches for his long lost brother in The Brothers GrimsbyDuring his mission to find him, he discovers that his brother is a secret agent and accidentally exposes a terrorist plot.  The two must work together in order to keep the world out of serious danger.  The one hour and twenty-three minute adventure comedy stars Sacha Baron Cohen.  It’s rated R for sex, nudity, violence, language and drugs.

A playboy gets a taste of his own medicine in The Perfect Match.  The man who once thought he’d never fall in love begins to have feelings for a woman that plays him.  The one hour and thirty-six minute romantic comedy is rated R for sex, nudity and language.

The story of Jesus’ childhood is told in The Young MessiahThe PG-13 drama shows His parents’ struggle to impart faith and knowledge to the son of God while also keeping Him out of harm’s way.  The film runs for one hour and fifty-one minutes.

Would you harm an innocent person in order to protect the lives of many?  That’s the question the characters of Eye in the Sky face.  In the one hour and forty-two minute drama, a 9-year-old girl walks into the area near two terrorists preparing for a suicide attack, just as the pilot is about to fire and kill the radicals.  Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman and Barkhad Abdi star in the limited released thriller.  It’s rated R for violence and language.


New life is sparked into an eccentric woman when she meets a new coworker in Hello, My Name is DorisThe six-something year-old falls for her much younger colleague and finally starts to live her life to the fullest.  The limited released comedic drama stars Sally Field and Max Greenfield.  The one hour and thirty-five minute film is rated R for language.

A woman’s life is altered following an accident in this week’s 10 Cloverfield Lane.  Next week, an accident changes a young girl’s life in the film Miracles from Heaven. On March 18 the sci-fi film Midnight Special is also being released.
