An autopsy on legendary entertainer Prince was completed Friday, but the questions surrounding his passing still remain a mystery.
The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office in Minnesota began the autopsy at 9 a.m. CDT and finished the exam around 1 p.m. However, the cause of death has not yet been revealed and may not be made public until the results of the toxicology report come back, which can take weeks.
"As part of a complete exam, relevant information regarding Mr. Nelson’s medical and social history will be gathered. Anything which could be relevant to the investigation will be taken into consideration," an earlier press release from the medical examiner's office read.
Prince Rogers Nelson was found unresponsive in an elevator of his Paisley Park estate on April 21. He died after paramedics were unable to revive him. He was 57.
Fans and celebrities across the globe have been paying tribute to the star since the tragic news broke.
