The Jungle Book kept the top spot at the Box Office for the second week in a row bringing in $60.8 million and raising the total domestic gross to just shy of $200 million. It looks like the film will probably hold onto the top spot for another week as well before the summer blockbuster season kicks off with Captain America: Civil War.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War opened with a disappointing $20.8 million. This is significantly less than 2012’s Snow White and The Huntsman which opened at No. 1 and grossed over $55 million. Box Office Mojo reports that with this disappointing early numbers it will be tough for this film to cover its budget of $115 million.
Barbershop: The Next Cut came in third place and brought in $10.8 million and fourth place belongs to Zootopia collecting another $6.6 million bringing the total domestic gross to $316.4, which is currently the third highest-grossing film of 2016.
The Boss rounds out the top five with $6.1 million and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice collected $5.5 million to raise its total domestic gross to $319.5 million. It is still about $40 million short of Deadpool for the highest-grossing film of 2016.
