The Cozy Reader Club is a monthly subscription box dedicated to helping women find a little me time in their busy lives. They feature 4-6 unique handmade goods including a beverage such as coffee, tea or cocoa, gourmet edible treats, beautiful handcrafted items from small businesses across the USA, as well as a recent hardcover women’s fiction novel.
While their price of $64.95 per month might seem a little steep, the goodies are well worth the price and I’ll be giving you a coupon to take $10 off per month for life! Read on to see what you can expect in your monthly shipments.
At the top of this article you’ll find a shot of the box the goodies came in. It had cute packaging and though the outside of the box got a bit beat up, everything inside was well-padded and wrapped in pretty paper.
The first thing I dove for in my box were the delightful edibles. This month's box included three packets of Treehouse Chocolate Co. gourmet dark drinking chocolate in different flavors and a box of six Viveltre homemade vanilla marshmallow hearts. My fiancé and I each tried the hot cocoa. Because it was dark, it wasn’t as sweet as traditional cocoa. I am a big fan of dark chocolate so I was happy, but my fiancé ended up adding Splenda to his. The only fault I could find was that if you only used the 6 ounces of water called for on the packet, the powder didn’t mix in well. For my second cup, I added twice the amount of water and it was much better. Also good to note, the Coconut Nectar flavor was completely vegan. As for the candy, they were the best marshmallows that I’ve ever put in my mouth. They were incredibly fluffy with the perfect amount of vanilla powdered coating on the outside. Looking the company up online, I found they have a marshmallow of the month club that’s so very tempting.
The box also included two luxurious handcrafted items this month – a pair of arm warmers from Etsy shop Warmer Style and a Peach and Ginger jelly jar soy candle from Bridge Nine Candle Company. The arm warmers are soft, but not unbearably hot, making them a good choice when I left the house this cool Easter morning. I was pleased to see a 10% off coupon tossed in for the entire Warmer Style store. The candle smells so good I could eat it. I’ve taken to burning it when I work to put off a calming scent.
Last in the box was this month’s book selection, which is Try Not to Breathe by Holly Seddon. It looks to be a fast-paced novel about a self-destructive journalist trying to solve the case of a merciless assault which left the victim in a coma for 15 years. Who doesn’t love a good thriller? I look forward to reading it when I get a free moment. Look here for a full description of the story or to buy the book.
All in all, this subscription service is a great buy. The items are all useful, prettily packaged and worth well more than you pay for the box. To make it an even better deal, the higher ups at Cozy Reader Club are offering our readers $10 off per month for the life of their subscription with the code GETCOZY. To receive a box in May, please sign up by the end of April. We can all use a little me time.
