Today in television news, The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Michael Strahan will be leaving Live With Kelly and Michael to join Good Morning America full time. In a statement, Strahan said his departure from Live will be “bittersweet” and called Kelly Ripa “an unbelievable partner.”

Variety has some updates about Jon Stewart’s upcoming venture with HBO. The former Daily Show host will be partnering with 3D graphics company Otoy to create short-form holographic content. Stewart said in a statement that Otoy is a “limitless, mind-blowing creative platform.”

The Twilight Zone is returning, this time in an all new format. Interlude and CBS have struck a deal to produce an interactive Twilight Zone reboot that is to be some sort of combination of television and gaming, according to The Wrap. CBS says that the new series will let the viewer change and adapt the story, meaning they can have a different experience every time. Ken Levine, creator of the video game Bioshock, is set to direct the first episode.

John C. McGinley will star in a new horror-comedy series on IFC, according to Deadline. The actor, known for playing Dr. Cox on Scrubs, has joined Stan Against Evil, which follows a New England police sheriff who must fight back against a horde of demons. The plot sounds a bit similar to Ash vs. Evil Dead, Starz's original series that was successful enough to warrant a second season. Also starring in Stan Against Evil is comedian Janet Varney (You’re the Worst).

After Making a Murderer became an absolute sensation, Netflix is developing another original documentary series. The streaming service has ordered Captive, an eight-episode documentary about hostage situations around the world, examining cases both well known and obscure, according to Deadline. Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) serves as producer.

With just a few days left to go until the premiere of Game of Thrones’ sixth season, the show’s producers are still having to answer questions about Jon Snow. Speaking with Variety, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss stated very definitively that Snow is dead, pointing to his eyes in the final scene of season 5 as evidence of that. “Your pupillary muscles relax when your body gives up,” adds Weiss. They did not, however, say anything about whether Snow will come back to life, which is the real question fans have been pondering.

NBC’s Aquarius is returning for a second season with a two-hour episode shown entirely without commercials, according to Variety. This is an unprecedented move in television broadcasting; the only break during the broadcast will be a one-minute local news interruption. NBC also experimented with changing up their format for Aquarius’ first season when they posted every single episode online at once, mimicking Netflix’s strategy.

Netflix has purchased the rights to a new time-travel drama series starring a former Will & Grace lead, Deadline reports. Eric McCormack will star in Travelers, which takes place in the distant future and follows the last humans on Earth, who discover a way to send their consciousness back to the 2000s. Created by Stargate’s Brad Wright, Travelers will also star Mackenzie Porter, Patrick Gilmore, Jared Paul Abrahamson, Nesta Marlee Cooper and Reilly Dolman.
