After news broke on Tuesday that Afeni Shakur Davis passed away, reactions and condolences from celebrities via social media have been pouring in for the mother of one of the greatest rappers of all time.
As we previously reported, Marin County police confirmed Shakur Davis’ death after responding to a call for a possible cardiac arrest at her home on the evening of May 2. She was transported to a local hospital where she later died. She was 69.
Shakur Davis was not only the mother of the legendary rapper and the subject of his 1995 hit “Dear Mama,” but also a political activist and philanthropist who worked to preserve her son’s legacy through the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation.
