Singer Kesha has now been given permission from Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald to perform at the Billboard Music Awards this coming Sunday.

Dr. Luke, her former mentor, originally had given the award show written consent for Kesha to perform, but then changed his mind after rumors came about that she would address their ongoing battle involving accusations of sexual abuse.

“Kesha’s performance on the Billboard Music Awards was always approved, in good faith,” Gottwald said in a statement to the Associated Press.

He added, “Approval was only suspended when Kemosabe learned Kesha was to use the performance as a platform to discuss the litigation."

Dr. Luke discovered the artist at age 17 and is head of the record label and publishing entity that she is signed to.

The "Tik Tok" singer posted a quote to her Instagram on May 19 with the caption, "looks like our voices can be heard after all." She dedicated the post to her fans.
