In a move that is gaining plenty of conversation on social media, a meteorologist was given a swear on air when viewers began allegedly sending emails saying her dress was “inappropriate.”
The video from the May 14 Los Angeles weather news station KTLA showed Liberte Chan reporting the news when a male co-worker, Chris Burrous, reached out his arms with a sweater for her to put on.
She asked him why she should put it on and he told her it was due to “a lot of e-mails” the station was receiving. Co-anchor Lynette Romero joked they should check to see if Burrous’ pants were appropriate for the workplace.
Chan was wearing a black dress with thin straps and she tweeted about the outfit, saying the original dress she chose registered “semi-transparent” when doing a test on the green screen.
Taking to her blog, Chan said KTLA did not order her to put the sweater on and she was “simply playing along with my co-anchor’s joke.”
She also added a video to her Facebook page of Burrous reading e-mails that were sent in.
