Celebrities join forces in this week’s new releases. Superheroes collide in the star-studded film that pits Captain America against Iron Man.
Pressures mount as the government causes a band of superheroes to take sides in Captain America: Civil War. The Avengers are divided into two groups, Tony Stark’s team who abides by the government’s rule of accountability and the Steve Rogers led faction who believes in freedom. Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd star in the PG-13 adventure. The action film is playing in conventional, 3D and IMAX theaters for two hours and twenty-six minutes.
A legendary female rock star travels to an island with her boyfriend to get away from the limelight in A Bigger Splash. Her quiet retreat is interrupted when her record producer ex shows up with his daughter, reigniting memories and old feelings. The limited released drama stars Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Dakota Johnson and Matthias Schoenaerts. The two hour film is rated R for nudity, sex, language and drugs.
Two big time celebrities join forces next week as George Clooney and Julia Roberts’ latest flick titled Money Monster, hits theaters. May 13 is also the release date for John Travolta’s thriller I am Wrath.
