X-Men: Apocalypse had to battle three new movies opening this week in order to keep the top spot at the box office.

X-Men ended up dropping to the second spot and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows took the top spot by bringing in $35.3 million.

In second place X-Men: Apocalypse grossed $22.3 million raising its total domestic gross to $116.5 million. This was over a 60 percent drop for the second weekend and while disappointing, will probably result in a final domestic gross between $160-165 million reports Box Office Mojo.

The second new release Me Before You brought in $18.3 million while Alice Through the Looking Glass was fourth with $10.7 million. The Angry Birds Movie rounded out the top five with $9.8 million, with its domestic gross closing in on $100 million.

Captain America: Civil War raised its total domestic gross to $388.9 million and I predict it will hit $400 million in the next week or so. The third new release Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping came in eighth place with $4.6 million. I expect this will be the one and only week this film comes in the top ten.
