Coroner reveals Anton Yelchin likely did not suffer when he died

A coroner has revealed that Anton Yelchin likely did not suffer long when he was tragically killed in an accident June 19.

In a statement to TheWrap, a representative for the coroner in Los Angeles County said, “Due to his injuries he most likely died within a minute or so.”

As previously reported, the Star Trek star became pinned between a brick mailbox and his own car. When he failed to meet up with friends, they went to his home and found his body.

The late-model Jeep Grand Cherokee that Yelchin had was likely involved in a recall from April, but Fiat Chrysler said it was “premature” to blame his death on the defect. They are currently investigating the tragic incident.

After his death, Yelchin was mourned by both celebrity co-stars and fans, who already were missing the young star. TheCelebrityCafe.com remembered some of his best moments in The Next Generation as Chekov.

His acting credits included Alpha Dog, ER, Criminal Minds and Terminator: Salvation.
