Appraising Pages is a company that puts out the monthly Bookish Box subscription, but they also do one-time boxes on chosen themes. In the past they've had Supernatural, Outlander and Harry Potter. This month they had a second Harry Potter box that I couldn’t pass up. So, I thought I’d give you a look into what to expect from their single boxes. This way you know whether you want to order the next one that becomes available.
You can see my review of the Bookish Box here. Appraising Pages mailed the current solo box in the same package they use for that subscription service. You can see it above. Inside, everything was packed in blue shredded cardboard so it would arrive safely.
The first item in the box was the T-shirt. Every Appraising Pages box comes with a tee. You can choose from a variety of styles and sizes. The top in this box was black with a Hagrid quote in gold lettering. It reads, “I am what I am, an’ I’m not ashamed. Never be ashamed.” It’s an extraordinary piece of advice for anyone in this crazy world. The tee is soft and features a hippogriff.
Next in the box was a Dobby watercolor bookmark by Lexy Olivia. It says, “Such a beautiful place to be with friends.” The bookmark is colorful and absolutely unique.
Up next was a ring from Rich Love Shoppe that features Harry’s stag patronus with the word written in script within. The bronze colored band adjusts to fit almost any size finger, which is thoughtful.
After that was a candle by Novelly Yours. The scent is Wizard’s Pub and it smells like heaven. I want to live inside this candle forever. The makeup of the scent is listed as butterscotch, beer, whiskey and woodsmoke. It makes your home smell like sweets with a touch of booze. Who can beat that?
Last in the box was the only item they gave a spoiler about. It’s a Snape mug and it was actually wrapped in the tee-shirt to keep it extra safe. That was a nice touch. One side reads, “After all this time?” and the other side says, “Always.” Heartbreaking and an excellent addition to my favorite mugs collection.
Each solo box by Appraising Pages starts its pricing at $35. Any upgrades to the shirt are extra. The company is currently taking orders for a box of Game of Thrones goodies here. The items in their boxes absolutely add up to the price you pay and usually include some one of a kind items that you can’t get anywhere else. Whether you grab the Bookish Box subscription or try out a one-time box, you’re sure to get something fun.
