HBO announced today Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm would be returning for a ninth season.

In a press release, the news was announced by HBO programming president Casey Bloys, who said they were “thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned.”

David himself said the reason he came back was, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”

Back in 2014, David had once said he would not do another season, but last year, he appeared to have a different tune when HBO President Michael Lombardo said David showed him a notebook with ideas for a new season.

In the series, which is HBO’s longest-running scripted series in both the comedy and drama category, David plays himself, but much more over-the-top as he portrays a cheekier version of his own life.

In addition to his HBO series, David also served as co-writer and star of the 2013 HBO film Clear History.

There is no confirmation on a release date for the next season.
