NFL’s Twitter was hacked, Roger Goodell still alive

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is still alive despite a tweet from the league's official Twitter account that said otherwise on Tuesday.

The NFL announced that its Twitter account was hacked after a tweet was posted about Goodell passing away was posted on their account. The tweet said, "We regret to inform our fans that our commissioner, Roger Goodell, has passed away. He was 57. #RIP,” and was deleted shortly after it was posted.

NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy confirmed on his Twitter account that the league’s account had been hacked and that Goodell is alive and well.

After the first Goodell tweet was deleted, two other tweets were posted on the league’s Twitter page. Those tweets have also been deleted.

According to the New York Daily News, Twitter user @IDissEverything took credit for hacking the NFL’s Twitter account. The Twitter user said that the NFL’s password was olsen3culvercam88. The hacker’s account has been suspended.

The tweet about Goodell dying was retweeted over 2,000 times. The NFL has started to investigate the hack.
