EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE of EM ROSSI "Young Hearts"
Today we're premiering the new video by rising star Em Rossi , a 17-year-old Petaluma singer-songwriter with a voice and a message beyond her years. She's already had groundbreaking success with her first single, “Earthquake,” and the follow-up track, “Young Hearts.” Now she is releasing a captivating music video to accompany the new dance remix of “Young Hearts,” produced by Tom Colotonio (Noelia, Redfoo, Paul Van Dyk).
Rossi’s style echoes that of Fletcher, Fleurie, Sara Bareilles, and Ingrid Michaelson, and with her honest lyrics and her earnest vocals, she brings a sense of authenticity to the mourning message of “Young Hearts.” The original version of the song was produced by Jim McGorman, who has worked with artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Kate Voegele, Cassadee Pope, and Avril Lavigne. Its contemporary instrumentation allows for the meaning of the track to quickly fill listeners with emotion, and the original music video spotlights Rossi, the young protagonist of the heart-breaking song.
Colotonio’s remix, however, features a driving dance beat, and the new music video focuses on Aliska Burkina and Zavio Gonzalez, a dynamic duo from the Florida repertory Dance Fever. In the video, the two gracefully take the viewers on a journey of young love, depicted through a style of contemporary ballet that is reminiscent of the iconic choreography of Dirty Dancing, Step Up and Flashdance.
Kurt Zendzian, who has worked with the likes of AWOLNATION, David Duchovny, The Tenors, and Johnny Gill, directed the music video for the dance remix and his cinematic touch effectively transforms the powerful song into a captivating visual experience.
Young hearts may be breaking, but Rossi is a young star in the making, and her new music video is sure to shake up the dance music scene with its meaningful message and its accessible articulation through dance.
