Country singer Craig Morgan is mourning the loss of his son, Jerry Greer, after the 19-year-old’s body was found on Monday in Tennessee.
As we reported, Greer went missing on Sunday, July 10, following a tubing accident in the Kentucky Lake in which the teen went under and never resurfaced. Searchers tried desperately to find him but changed their efforts from search to recovery. The family’s worst fears were later confirmed when Greer’s body was located.
“It is with deep sadness that I am confirming the passing of Jerry Greer,” Morgan’s rep said in a statement to ET. “The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Department recovered his body this evening after a search that began Sunday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee.”
At this time Greer’s exact cause of death has not yet been released.
His father is known for such hits including “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “International Harvester” and “Bonfire.”
