Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced at Comic-Con that a Guardians of the Galaxy ride is coming to Disneyland.
Titled Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission - Breakout! The ride takes over "The Twilight Zone Terror of Terror" attraction and opens its doors in summer 2017.
The once terrifying tower is now a power plant and features Rocket Raccoon taking riders to get collectibles from The Collector. The "elevator" ride mechanic from "The Tower of Terror" is still used in the GotG ride.
This is the first major Marvel ride to open in a Disney park. Here's hoping more are on the way, as long as they don't touch that dope Winnie the Pooh ride because there will be a very angry handwritten letter sent to Bob Iger.
"The Tower of Terror" closes its doors in Disneyland in January. The ride will continue operating in Disney's parks in Florida, Paris and Tokyo. The one in California is the first one to close since the first "Tower of Terror" was built in Florida in 1994. The second one was built in California and opened in 2004.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
