The late artist Prince had reportedly purchased the house used in his hit 1984 film Purple Rain just eight months before his untimely death.
ET noted that the Minneapolis home was purchased by Prince’s company, NPG Music Publishing, last August for $117,000.
"It was a full cash offer, no inspections, no anything. There was emotional attachment to the home," Coldwell Banker Listing Agent Nancy Petran said. "The home was never moved into, and nobody lives there yet. A disabled vet lived there previously before the sale and passed away."
Petran also disclosed that there were a few offers on the property but Prince’s company's was the best out of a handful of others. Although she said that when she got the call about the purchase from his company they didn't tell her that the musician was the person interested in buying the home.
Prince’s plans for the house never came to fruition as he died on April 21 of an accidental overdose after he was found unresponsive at his Paisley Park estate about 20 miles from the modest two-story home he purchased months earlier.
