If you were looking forward to seeing Adele perform live at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show in February we have bad news … it’s not going to happen.

After the rumors ran wild that the songstress was asked to perform on one of the biggest stages during halftime of the game, she addressed those reports and revealed that she was asked but declined.

“I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” Adele told the crowd at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, Aug. 13. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.”

The crowd was obviously disappointed as was the NFL.

“There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now,” a league source told The Sun last month. The source added that at the time organizers were “doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.”

So the NFL will have to pick someone new to entertain the audience this year. Who would you like to see perform during halftime?
