B.E. Taylor, a well-known Pittsburgh musician and also a national recording artist, has died at the age of 65 due to complications from an inoperable brain tumor.

According to WTAE, Taylor was diagnosed in March 2007, but he continued to make music, releasing new songs and performing his annual holiday concerts that drew huge crowds each year.  Some of the venues included Heinz Hall and Wheeling’s Capitol Music Hall.

Taylor’s career had encompassed eight Christmas tours.

He released B. E. Taylor Christmas in 1994 and was working B. E. Taylor Christmas 4 as well as an upcoming Christmas tour before his death, reports FX Tribune.

Before embarking on his solo career, the B. E. Taylor Group had gained a following at the Pittsburgh club scene and had achieved Billboard success with one of their hits “Vitamin L” being played in heavy rotation on MTV, reports WTAE.

Taylor is survived by his wife and three children.
