Rapper Shawty Lo was killed in a fiery car crash early Wednesday morning along a highway stretch in Fulton County, Georgia. He was 40 years old.
The news of his death was confirmed by his sibling and manager via the star's Twitter account.
Authorities said that Shawty Lo, whose real name is Carlos Walker, was in a car accident just before 2:30 a.m. after leaving the Atlanta-area strip club Blue Flame. He was traveling in a southbound lane on I-285 when he lost control of his Audi and slammed into a guard rail. The car then hit two trees and burst into flames. Walker was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Two other passengers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. At this time the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Walker's videographer and chef, Milton Swift, drove to the crash site and spoke to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as he tried to make sense of what happened.
