King Arthur actress Georgina Campbell has been cast in a lead role in Syfy's Superman prequel series Krypton.

Campbell will play Lyta Zod, a member of Krypton's military, according to Deadline. The show follows Superman's grandfather, named Seg-El, who will have a romance with Lyta Zod. Seg-El hasn't been cast yet. The series is not connected to DC's movie universe with Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman.

Campbell will star in Warner Bros' big budget King Arthur movie set to come out in March. She's starred in the British TV show One Night and the hour-long TV drama Murdered by My Boyfriend. For the latter, she won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Leading Actress in her role as a victim of domestic abuse.

Man of Steel writer and BvS co-writer David S. Goyer will executive produce Krypton. Sherlock and Peaky Blinders director Colm McCarthy will direct the pilot and executive produce with Goyer and showrunner Damian Kindler. Kindler served as a writer and executive producer on Sleepy Hollow.
